Former Leverkusen Player: Fan Store Sold Out of Everything

Former Leverkusen player Bober, who now works in the club's fan store, spoke to Polish media outlet SportoweFakty about his current job and the celebrations after last week's title win.

Bober played for Leverkusen from 2009 to 2014 as a backup goalkeeper, never making an appearance for the first team. After retiring, he stayed with the club and became a staff member at the fan store.

Speaking about his new role, Bober said, "They were opening a new chain of stores and asked me if I would like to give it a try. The club knew I had relevant education. I graduated from business school, and I thought working in the fan store would be a good challenge. I order merchandise and sell club memorabilia, such as jerseys, souvenirs, and match tickets. Sometimes, I also work at the stadium during important matches."

Last Sunday, Leverkusen made history by winning the Bundesliga title, and celebrations lasted for several hours. Bober stated, "There was no day off after the game, but we could clock in at 12 p.m., so there was some time to rest. We turned the night into day. Actually, I got home before 4 a.m. It was amazing. Now the store is completely sold out. It's been a really unusual season in our store."

Leverkusen has the chance to win two more trophies this season, as they have reached the final of the DFB-Pokal and will face West Ham United in the Europa League quarter-finals this week.
